Non-binary people may choose an orchiectomy to remove the testicles while keeping the penis and existing genital anatomy.
Removing the testicles can create a flatter genital profile and may make tucking considerably easier. Some people may also consider removing some or all of the scrotal skin (scrotectomy) when they are certain they do not want vaginoplasty in the future.
However, this is an important decision to discuss carefully with the surgeon. If future vaginoplasty or vulvoplasty remains a possibility, preserving the scrotal skin is usually recommended, as this tissue can later be used to create parts of the vulva, including the labia majora.
At Safe Rebirth, the surgical approach is discussed individually with the surgeon according to your anatomy, your goals and whether you want to keep your options open for future genital surgery.
